Zi Wei Dou Shu: The Purple Star Chart
Zi Wei Dou Shu plots your life into twelve palaces and fourteen major stars. A look at how this Chinese star-chart system works.
中文 →
Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗数), the Purple Star Astrology, is a Chinese system that lays a person's life out as a chart of twelve palaces. Unlike BaZi, which works from birth-time characters, Zi Wei builds a board where each palace stands for an area of life — self, wealth, career, relationships, health, and more.
The fourteen major stars
A set of fourteen major stars, led by the Zi Wei (Emperor) star, is placed across the palaces according to a fixed calculation from your birth data. Each star carries a temperament: some are steady, some expressive, some demanding. Where a star lands tells you which life area it tends to colour.
Reading the board
A Zi Wei reading reads the combination of stars and the smaller "advisory" stars around them, then describes how those patterns might show up as tendencies — strengths to use, friction to expect, seasons that suit a given move.
How we use it
On this site Zi Wei is one input into a fuller destiny reading, often read alongside BaZi. The output is a personal interpretation written for you, not a translation of an old text.
